Abstract

Kolektivní monografie desetičlenného autorského týmu je výsledkem rozsáhlého zkoumání tzv. folklorního hnutí druhé poloviny 20. století v českých zemích, které bylo významným a zároveň rozporuplným kulturním i sociálním jevem. Svůj původ má v padesátých letech, kdy jsou zejména ve městech zakládány soubory lidových písní a tanců. Ty měly naplňovat představy ideologicky pojaté kultury, jejich konjunktura však zákonitě vyústila do „tíhy folkloru“ pociťované na přelomu let padesátých a šedesátých. Kniha se zabývá tím, jak tuto aktivitu vnímali její přímí účastníci a co o ní prozradí jejich životní příběhy a vyprávění. Bylo folklorní hnutí nástrojem politické propagandy komunistického režimu, nebo šlo naopak o ostrůvky svobody lidské i umělecké, které se staly jakýmsi bezpečným místem pro realizaci vlastních strategií a alternativních myšlenek?

Abstract (in English)

The collective monograph of the ten-member team is the result of an extensive study of the so-called folklore movement of the second half of the 20th century in the Czech lands, which was an important and at the same time contradictory cultural and social phenomenon. It has its origins in the 1950s, when ensembles of folk songs and dances were founded, especially in the cities. These were supposed to fulfill the ideas of ideologically conceived culture, but their boom naturally resulted in the "weight of folklore" felt at the turn of the fifties and sixties. The book deals with how this activity was perceived by its direct participants and what their life stories and stories tell about it. Was the folklore movement an instrument of political propaganda of the communist regime, or was it an island of human and artistic freedom, which became a kind of safe place for the implementation of its own strategies and alternative ideas?
