Abstract
I am starting Ph.D. research with the topic “Sound-Mediated Ecological Interactions and Processes: Materialization of Aural History Through Sound Time Collection” and part of its realization is to choose correct measurement methods for quantitative data. My contribution will address selection of methods that could be used for reliable and variable long-term recording of data accessible from analyzing sound recordings. This should be frequency analysis, loudness analysis and rf analysis with its approaches to measure known as real-time analyzer, decibel meter and radio frequency analyzer. I will discuss options and limitations of various approaches to detect valid and reliable results.
