Abstract
L’enceinte du “Moulin Neuf” est située en rebord d’un plateau surplombant l’Èvre, vallée de la région des Mauges dont la confluence avec la Loire se situe à vingt kilomètres au nord du site. La découverte du site appartient à G. Leroux (Inrap) lors de prospections aériennes, en . Le programme triennal de fouille s’est concentré sur deux entrées. D’après le mobilier archéologique et les datations radiocarbone, l’ensemble des structures est daté du Néolithique récent. Le site participe à la connaissance du territoire néolithique de la vallée, encore peu étudié. À plus large échelle, il contribue à la recherche sur les enceintes dans l’Ouest de la France.
Abstract (in English)
The Moulin Neuf enclosure is located on the edge of a plateau above the Èvre River, in the Mauges Valley, with the Loire confluence located about twenty kilometres north of the site. The site was discovered by G. Leroux (Inrap) during aerial prospections in . The three-year excavation program focused on two entrances. Based on the archaeological objects and radiocarbon dates, all the structures date to the Recent Neolithic. This site contributes to our knowledge of the Neolithic territory of the valley, which has still been rather poorly studied for this period. On a wider scale,it contributes to research into enclosures in the west of France.
