Abstract

Erektilní dysfunkce představuje rizikový faktor predikující kardiovaskulární onemocnění. Endoteliální dysfunkce se u mužů s erektilní dysfunkcí objevuje dříve, než se klinicky manifestují hypertenze, dyslipidemie či diabetes mellitus. Muži trpící erektilní dysfunkcí se tak stávají nositeli systémového vaskulárního onemocnění. Věk nemocného, tíže a délka trvání erektilní dysfunkce i přítomnost rizikových faktorů kardiovaskulárního onemocnění (KVO) by měly vést lékaře ke zhodnocení rizika vzniku ischemické choroby srdeční v budoucnosti. Léčba poruchy erekce mužů s kardiovaskulárním onemocněním se řídí zásadami Princetonského konsenzu a Guidelines Evropské urologické společnosti.

Abstract (in English)

Erectile dysfunction is a risk factor predicting cardiovascular disease. Endothelial dysfunction appears earlier in men with erectile dysfunction than hypertension, dyslipidemia or diabetes mellitus. Thus, men with erectile dysfunction become carriers of systemic vascular disease. The age of the patient, the severity and duration of erectile dysfunction, and the presence of risk factors for cardiovascular disease (CVD) should lead the physician to assess the risk of future coronary artery disease. The treatment of erectile dysfunction in men with CVD is guided by the principles of the Princeton Consensus and the European Urological Society Guidelines.
