Abstract

In English

The strategy of the Faculty of Education at Masaryk University for 2021-2028 sets as one of the goals to develop students’ intercultural and global competences through internationalizing curriculum and curriculum delivery, creating inclusive learning environment, and internationalizing the service sector of the faculty. The faculty leaders have established mission-connected dialogue with the department heads and academics and together moved from words to action. Thanks to the mindset for shared collaboration across the departments, the faculty will be launching an English undergraduate program ‘Education for Diversity and Inclusion’. While the program aims at international students, its significant dimension is to cultivate an inclusive educational environment that will ensure equitable opportunities across diverse student body. In certain, practically oriented courses, the international students will be motivated to gain intercultural perspectives and cultivate their empathy through learning with the “home” students. Further, both groups of students will share their international and intercultural experience in the International and Intercultural Learning Corner, a newly established hub of extra-curricular internationalization at the Faculty of Education. ‘Education for Diversity and Inclusion’ is thus not only a name for a study program, but it is also a mission for building international and intercultural environment at the Faculty of Education. The mission is yet incomplete and we see as an opportunity to share our visions and practice with the broader university public in the country and internationally to seek their opinions and be inspired by their accomplishments in inclusive, international, and intercultural education.
