The focus of the research is the various correction practices used by pre and in service teachers in differing classroom contexts in the Czech Republic, one of which includes an immersive virtual environment (IVE). Three datasets of video and audio recording will be analysed using multimodal conversation analysis (CA) to reveal the practices used. Correction has been a key issue in second language acquisition (SLA) theory for over 70 years, and recent perspectives in SLA have shifted to the social value of error (trouble) and correction., which in the classroom may happen through student-teacher interaction. In addition, Covid-19 has meant that the use of technology in EFL, be it as a tool for language practice, and/ or a platform for lessons, is now much more mainstream than before. It is hoped that examining the various practices used in various contexts by teachers with varying levels of experience, will uncover the less and more successful practices, and allow insights into the degree to which the environment influences this.
