Cílem příspěvku je ukázat, jakou roli hrají adaptační studia v současném diskursivním světě: nechovají se textocentricky, jsou orientována kontextově, nebudují kánon kulturně prominentních textů. Neredukují kulturu na sekvenci uměleckých děl, nesugerují to, že dílo je estetickým faktem krásy, transcendentálním objektem, ale výsledkem praxe, která vyrůstá z konkrétních kulturních, sociálních, politických podmínek.

The aim of the study is to show what role adaptation studies play in the contemporary discursive world: they are not text-centric, they are contextually oriented, and they do not build a canon of culturally prominent texts. They do not reduce culture to a sequence of artworks, they do not suggest that the work is an aesthetic fact of beauty, a transcendental object, but the result of practice that grows out of particular cultural, social, and political conditions.
