Abstract

V knize jsou analyzována klíčová východiska, ke kterým patří zejména demence, proces stárnutí, stáří a osobnost seniora a jeho současné postavení ve společnosti. Autorský kolektiv se zaměřil na vliv lékařských, psychologických, sociologických, edukačních a ergoterapeutických faktorů na průběh stárnutí, péči a kvalitu života lidí. Důraz je kladen na rozpracování přístupů k podpoře a rozvoji kognitivních funkcí seniorů a využití alternativních prvků v rámci terapie a rehabilitace. Text je doplněn o výsledky několika výzkumných studií, na kterých se autoři publikace podíleli. Prezentované výzkumy podtrhují aktuálnost a význam tématu a umožňují vidět mezioborovou praxi zaměřenou na kognitivní rehabilitaci geriatrických klientů.

Abstract (in English)

The book analyses the key concepts, including dementia, the ageing process, old age and the personality of the elderly and their current position in society. The team of authors focuses on the influence of medical, psychological, sociological, educational and occupational therapy factors on the course of ageing, care and quality of life. Emphasis is placed on the elaboration of approaches to support and develop cognitive functions of the elderly and the use of alternative elements in therapy and rehabilitation. The text is complemented by the results of several research studies in which the authors of the publication have participated. The research presented highlights the relevance and importance of the topic and allows us to see the interdisciplinary practice focused on cognitive rehabilitation of geriatric clients.
