Abstract

V originále

This research will aim to investigate interaction in elementary school classroom using dynamic network actor models (DyNAMs). The DyNAMs grasp interaction in the form of temporal and relational network data aiming to incorporate both larger social context and personal preferences and attributes. The models will be employed on data collected from an interventional project running from 2021 aimed at studying effects of teacher development program on interaction in classrooms. We have access to elementary classroom lessons from six experimental and six control classrooms recorded before the intervention and after the intervention employing a standard pretest-posttest design. Several student-level variables including gender, SES, and friendship relations are included too. The following questions will be addressed: • What influences interaction in elementary classrooms? • How does an intervention aimed at improving interaction influence interaction in elementary classrooms? The presentation will touch the issues of employing DyNAMs to aggregate and compare results from models across the classrooms and employing DyNAMs in experimential settings by assessing the effects of intervention on interaction in classrooms.
