Abstract
The paper discusses how early modern astronomers interpreted the history of their own field. By reflecting on the history of their field, they were able to formulate the idea of scientific progress.

Příspěvek pojednává o tom, jak raně novověcí astronomové interpretovali dějiny vlastního oboru. Prostřednictvím reflexe dějin svého oboru byli schopni formulovat ideu vědeckého pokroku.
