Tato forma chudoby je v oblasti sociální pedagogiky téměř nereflektovaná a v českém prostředí pro ni chybí systematičtější teoretický výklad. Teoretická studie proto nabízí základní expozici problematiky, upozorňuje na přítomné diskursy v přístupu k informační chudobě a nabízí možnost reflexe fenoménu, přístupy či vymezeními sociální pedagogiky. Cílem studie je pojem informační chudoby vymezit, popsat a představit jako sociálněpedagogický fenomén, který lze zvládnout díky vhodné transdisciplinární spolupráci mezi knihovnami a knihovníky a sociálními pedagogy.
