Abstract
It has been more than a decade since the Internet of Things (IoT) came into existence. However, no study to date presents the thematic analysis of the research on its adoption in the e-commerce industry. In this chapter, 111 articles related to IoT and e-commerce were extracted from the Web of Science (WoS) database and thematic analysis was conducted. The analysis identified innovation adoption, e-commerce, and behavior as motor themes, information as emerging themes, and Internet and modeling as underdeveloped themes. Niche themes such as opportunities, challenges, and quality related to IoT were also identified. These themes have been elaborated based on thematic clusters. Topic trend analysis indicated that the management of IoT is currently the most sought-after theme.
