Abstract

Příspěvek se zabývá analýzou přístupů ke zpracování biografie katolického novináře Alfreda Fuchse (1892–1941). Snaží se odpovědět na to, nakolik Fuchsův netradiční život s jeho tragickým koncem ovlivnil autory prací o jeho životě. Vzhledem k tomu, že se narodil do židovské rodiny, ale už v mládí se začal zajímat o katolickou církev, ke které později konvertoval, a k jeho smrti v koncentračním táboře, byla v jeho životopisech často upřednostňovaná křesťanská mučednická tematika. Hlavní otázky příspěvku směřují na to, jak jednotliví autoři ke zpracování jeho životopisu přistupovali, které části jeho života v biografiích zdůrazňovali a které naopak upozadili, a především nakolik v nich převládá určitý společný legendistický rys.

Abstract (in English)

This contribution analyses the approaches to the biography of the Catholic journalist Alfred Fuchs (1892–1941) and tries to answer to what extent Fuchs' unconventional life with its tragic ending has influenced the authors of works about his life. Because he was born into a Jewish family but at a young age became interested in the Catholic Church, to which he later converted, and because of his death in a concentration camp, Christian martyrdom has often been a preferred theme in his biographies. The main questions of the paper are directed at how individual authors interpreted his biography, which parts of his life they emphasized and which they neglected, and above all to what extent a certain common legendary feature prevails in their biographies.
