Abstract
The author argues that an effective welfare state increases people’s satisfaction with democracy in their country. Hence, it may reduce public support for populist parties of any type.

Autor argumentuje, že účinný sociální stát zvyšuje spokojenost lidí se stavem demokracie v jejich zemi. Návazně pak může snižovat podporu veřejnosti populistickým stranám jakéhokoliv typu.
