Abstract

Questo intervento si propone di applicare uno sguardo incrociato sul rapporto testo immagine nei codici arturiani a tre ordini di problemi: 1. Descrivere come si costruisce una tradizione iconografica - Seguire gli snodi della tradizione di un romanzo su un periodo lungo e prendendo in considerazione la totalità dei testimoni illustrati 2. Valutare l'effettivo potenziale d’innovazione e d’irradiamento di specifici centri - Verificare quanta parte, negli snodi della tradizione, è da attribuire a quelli che appaiono come punti di convergenza tra nuove forme di circolazione dei romanzi, l’elaborazione di impaginazioni inedite, l’emergenza di nuove categorie di pubblico 3. Provare a confrontare le caratteristiche dei testi e quelle dei cicli iconografici. - Vedere se a determinate famiglie testuali corrispondono specificità sul piano dell’illustrazione.

Abstract (in English)

This talk aims to apply a cross-cultural look at the text-image relationship in Arthurian codices to three orders of problems: 1. Describing how an iconographic tradition is constructed - Following the junctures of a novel's tradition over a long period and taking into consideration the totality of illustrated witnesses 2. Assessing the actual potential for innovation and irradiation of specific centers - Verifying how much part, in the junctures of the tradition, is to be attributed to what appear to be points of convergence between new forms of circulation of novels, the elaboration of novel page layouts, and the emergence of new categories of audiences 3. Trying to compare the characteristics of texts and those of iconographic cycles. - See if certain textual families correspond to specificities on the level of illustration.
