Kapitola se zabývá lekařskými motivy, resp. lékařskou inspirací v ústředních Vančurových dramatech. In concreto jde jde o hry Učitel a žák (1927), Nemocná dívka (1927), Alchymista (1932)a Jezero Ukereve (1935). Text ukazuje soustavný zájem autora (jež byl původním povoláním lékař) o lékařskou a šířeji vědeckou problematiku a její vtělení do konkrétních motivů, situací a postav.

The chapter deals with medical motifs or medical inspiration in Vančur's central dramas. In concreto, these are the plays The Teacher and the Pupil (1927), The Sick Girl (1927), The Alchemist (1932) and Lake Ukereve (1935).
