After decades, nowadays, live coding becomes a popular strategy of live performance. Over the computer languages, it is not only for creating sound, but also visual, sometimes it is even associated with dance, installation, video, poetry, light system and performance, though is particularly prevalent in computer music usually as improvisation with or without structure, although it could be combined with algorithmic composition or comprovisation. This workshop focused on the fundamental coding, performance and improvisation skills from one of the most popular live coding environment – Tidalcycle. Students learned and coded together over the platform Estuary, which is belonged, developed and maintained by McMaster University, Canada.
