Abstract
The emergence of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) requires the development of new therapeutic strategies. The research focuses on the antimicrobial activity of twelve phenolic compounds isolated from the root bark of Morus alba against MRSA and MSSA. Eight compounds were assessed for the synergistic potential with ciprofloxacin, oxacillin, and kanamycin. The combination of antibiotics with natural compounds offers a promising approach.

Rychlé šíření MRSA vyžaduje alternativní přístupy v boji proti rezistenci. Práce demonstruje antimikrobiální aktivitu dvanácti fenolických sloučenin izolovaných z kůry kořenů Morus alba proti MRSA a MSSA. U osmi sloučenin byl hodnocen synergický potenciál s ciprofloxacinem, oxacilinem a kanamycinem, přičemž interakce antibiotik s přírodními látkami odhaluje slibnou strategii.
