Abstract

Ku příležitosti připomínky 800 let od první zmínky o Boskovicích připravilo muzeum pro město knihu, která rekapituluje historii města od roku 1222 až do současnosti. Vznikala téměř pět let a podílel se na ní kolektiv 25 autorů. Výsledkem jejich práce je čtivá syntéza vysoké odborné úrovně, rozdělená do 5 hlavních chronologických celků a celkem 28 kapitol. Důraz je kladen na zastoupení témat reprezentujících všechny aspekty dějin města a jeho obyvatel: přírodní poměry, správu, architekturu, náboženství, vzdělání, kulturu, obchod či průmysl. Cenné jsou zejména nejnovější a dosud nepublikované poznatky získané pečlivým studiem rozsáhlých archivních a jiných materiálů. Reprezentativní aspekt knihy je zdůrazněn použitím 261 barevných ilustrací.

Abstract (in English)

On the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the first mention of Boskovice, the museum prepared a book for the town, which recapitulates the history of the town from 1222 to the present day. It took almost five years to complete and involved a team of 25 authors. The result of their work is a readable synthesis of a high professional level, divided into 5 main chronological units and a total of 28 chapters. The emphasis is on the presentation of themes that represent all aspects of the history of the city and its inhabitants: natural conditions, administration, architecture, religion, education, culture, trade and industry. Of particular value are the latest and hitherto unpublished findings, obtained through careful study of extensive archival and other materials. The representative aspect of the book is emphasised by the use of 261 colour illustrations.
