Příspěvek si klade za cíl nastínit jednak důvody vzniku biskupské kanceláře v souvislosti se změnami ve správě (především pražské) diecéze, jednak i to, co zformování a postupná konsolidace této instituce znamenala pro emisi biskupských písemností a jaké důsledky z těchto změn pro správu diecéze plynuly.

The contribution aims to outline the reasons for the establishment of the episcopal chancery in connection with the changes in the administration of the (mainly Prague) diocese, as well as what the formation and gradual consolidation of this institution meant for the issuance of episcopal documents and what consequences these changes had for the administration of the diocese.
