Abstract

The book discusses the role of special educational needs teachers in the contemporary school environment in the Czech Republic from their perspective. The book presents selected findings of qualitative research. There were approached special education teachers with diverse specializations as research participants – professionals in the field of speech therapy, visual impairment, physical or intellectual disability, behavioral and emotional difficulties/disorders, hearing impairment, and learning disabilities. These were special educational needs teachers working in the field, i.e. in schools and school facilities. The text offers insight into the profession and the professional experience of special educational needs teachers for special needs education students. For teachers (including special educational needs teachers), the text represents an opportunity to reflect on their professional position, activities, and experience.

Abstract (in Czech)

Kniha pojednává o roli speciální pedagogiky a speciálních pedagogů v současném školském prostředí v České republice a to z pohledu samotných speciálních pedagogů. Jádrem knihy jsou vybraná zjištění kvalitativního výzkumu, který se zaměřil právě na to, jak samotní speciální pedagogové na svou profesi pohlížejí. Coby participanti výzkumu byli oslovováni speciální pedagogové s rozmanitým oborovým zaměřením – logopedie, oftalmopedie, somatopedie, etopedie, psychopedie, surdopedie, specifické poruchy učení. Šlo o speciální pedagogy, kteří aktuálně působí v terénu, tj. ve školách a školských zařízeních. Studentům speciální pedagogiky text nabízí nahlédnutí „pod pokličku“ profese speciálního pedagoga. Pro pedagogy (včetně pedagogů speciálních) je text příležitostí k reflexi své profesní pozice, činností a zkušenosti.
