Abstract
The chapter focuses on the way child agency is understood and promoted in the first laboratory school in the Czech Republic. Research shows that empowering children, making them part of democratic decision-making processes in a school - which is conceptualised as a learning eco-system with permeable boundaries inside the community it serves - is deeply rooted in the school's philosophy and lived as one of the school's most important democratic values.

Kapitola se zaměřuje na to, jak je chápana rozhodovací role dětí (child agency) v první laboratorní škole v České republice. Výzkum ukazuje, že posílení postavení dětí, které je činí součástí demokratických rozhodovacích procesů ve škole - která je koncipována jako vzdělávací ekosystém s prostupnými hranicemi uvnitř komunity, jíž slouží - je hluboce zakořeněno ve filozofii školy a je žito jako jedna z nejdůležitějších demokratických hodnot školy.
