Anotace

This publication is a peer-reviewed post-conference proceedings from the international conference “9th Brno Conference on Linguistics Studies in English“, which was held on 16-17 September 2021. The individual contributions are related to patterns and variation in specialised discourses (media, academic, business or tourism), the manner of efective communication between the author and recipient, and current development trends in the discourses in question. The main research methods are the comparative approach including discourses in English and other languages, critical and corpus analysis and identification of pragmatic strategies and rhetorical means. The authors of papers come from the Czech Republic, Italy, Luxembourg, Serbia and Georgia.

Anotace česky

Publikace je recenzovaným sborníkem z mezinárodní konference 9th Brno Conference on Linguistics Studies in English, která se uskutečnila 16.-17. září 2021. Jednotlivé texty spojuje téma struktury a variace ve specializovaných diskurzech (mediálním, akademickém, firemním, oblasti cestovního ruchu i vzdělávání), způsob efektivní interakce mezi autorem a adresátem a současné trendy vývoje daných diskurzů. Hlavními prizmaty pohledu jsou komparativní přístup zahrnující diskurzy v angličtině a dalším jazyce, kritická a korpusová analýza a identifikace pragmatických strategií a rétorických prostředků. Autoři textů jsou z České republiky, Itálie, Lucemburska, Srbska a Gruzie.
