Abstract (in English) |
---|
Prehistory through the Eyes of Scientists and Artists is the seventh collective monograph published as part of the Study Series of the Centre for Cultural Anthropology. In the first study, The Earliest Depiction of the Moravian Archaeological Sites of the Custodian of the Františkovo Museum Moric Trapp, Petr Vachůt and Petr Kostrhun focus on Moric Trapp, the founding and neglected figure of Moravian archaeology. The text introduces seven large-scale watercolour paintings of Moravian archaeological sites that formed part of the first independent archaeological exhibition at the Františkovo Museum built by Trapp in 1889. In the context of archaeological practice, the watercolour paintings represent a unique and authentic visual material and source of information. |
