Abstract

Zkoumání vztahu umělecké úlohy a výsledného uměleckého díla, jež se v současném dějepisu umění objevuje zejména od přelomu 70. a 80. let 20. století, má především v souvislosti s dílem Jacoba Burckhardta na konci 19. století mnohem delší historii. Ve své historiografické studii ji analyzoval již před lety Ján Bakoš. Nynější workshop doktorských studentů v Brně si přitom klade za úkol promyslet tři důležité metodologické tradice v dějepisu umění: (a) Umělecká úloha a Jacob Burckhardt; (b) Zadání, intence a Michael Baxandall; (c) Funkce a Gottfried Semper. Právě tyto teoretické přístupy nám mohou ukázat určitý způsob, díky němuž bychom mohli dosáhnout objasnění konkrétně vzniklého uměleckého tvaru a současně bychom porozuměli té umělecké úloze, kterou tvůrce „právě takto – a ne jinak“ vyřešil.

Abstract (in English)

The investigation of the relationship between the artistic task and the resulting work of art, which appears in contemporary art history especially since the turn of the 1970s and 1980s, has a much longer history, especially in connection with the work of Jacob Burckhardt at the end of the 19th century. Ján Bakoš analyzed it years ago in his historiographical study. The current workshop of doctoral students in Brno sets itself the task of thinking through three important methodological traditions in the history of art: (a) The artistic task and Jacob Burckhardt; (b) Assignment, Intention and Michael Baxandall; (c) Functions and Gottfried Semper. It is these theoretical approaches that can show us a certain way, thanks to which we could achieve clarification of the concretely created artistic form and at the same time we would understand the artistic task that the creator solved "just like this - and not otherwise".
