Abstract
Jak poznáme, zda žijeme správně? Jaký život bychom považovali za úspěšný? Je to týž život, jaký bychom považovali za obdivuhodný? Pokud zde vidíme rozdíl, jaký život bychom chtěli pro sebe, pro své blízké, pro všechny? A je vlastně zdařilý život hoden spíše chvály, nebo gratulace? Pro mnohé úvahy z oblasti morální i politické filosofie (ale jistě nejen pro ně) bude patrně vždy podstatnou otázkou, jak posuzovat kvalitu lidského života, neboť právě udržení či povýšení kvality lidských životů bude často posledním cílem těchto úvah a kritériem pro posuzování etických a politických teorií. Ve svém příspěvku nejprve představím a na příkladech ilustruji různé koncepty zdařilého života, a tedy i různé podmínky, ke kterým přihlížíme při snahách o posuzování kvality života. Poté tyto koncepty pojmově rozliším. Odliším takto mimo jiné život šťastný od života dobrého a tento dále od života ušlechtilého. Abych své úvahy tematicky a pojmově bezpečně vymezil, vyjdu z Aristotelova eudaimonistického rámce, a budu tak pracovat s faktory jako je slast, morální výtečnost, rozumnost (čili praktická moudrost) nebo štěstí. Tento rámec však bude také cílem mých úvah. Záměrem mého příspěvku totiž bude jednak přimět publikum k rozvaze nad různými otázkami spojenými s kvalitou života, ale také ve srovnání s jinými koncepty zdařilého života jasněji explikovat pojetí blaženého života v klasické eudaimonistické etice ctnosti.

Abstract (in English)
How do we know if we are living right? What kind of life would we consider successful? Is it the same life we would consider admirable? If we see a difference here, what kind of life would we want for ourselves, for our loved ones, for everyone? And is a successful life actually more worthy of praise or rather congratulations? For many reflections in moral and political philosophy (but certainly not only for them) the question of how to judge the quality of human life will probably always be an essential question, since it is the maintenance or elevation of the quality of human lives that will often be the ultimate goal of these reflections and the criterion for judging ethical and political theories. In my presentation, I will first introduce and illustrate with examples the different conceptions of a successful life, and thus the different conditions that we take into account when trying to assess the quality of life. I then distinguish these concepts conceptually. In this way, I will distinguish, among other things, a happy life from a good life and the latter from a noble life. In order to make my reflections thematically and conceptually secure, I will start from Aristotle's eudaimonistic framework and thus work with factors such as pleasure, moral excellence, rationality (or practical wisdom) and happiness. This framework will also be the focus of my reflections. Indeed, the intention of my paper will be both to get the audience to reflect on various issues related to the quality of life, but also to explicate more clearly the notion of the noble life in classical eudaimonistic virtue ethics in comparison to other conceptions of the successful life.
