The summer school took place on 26 June-2 July 2022 at the University Centre Telč of Masaryk University. The event was attended by a total of 31 deaf and hard of hearing participants from among university and secondary school students and members of associations of young deaf and hard of hearing people from the Czech Republic, Poland, Italy, Slovakia, as well as representatives of the European Union of Deaf Youth based in Brussels. The event was also attended by deaf and hearing teachers and lecturers from the Czech Republic and Poland, who are primarily involved in foreing language education of deaf and hard of hearing learners at different levels of education. The event took place thanks to the EU projects LangSkills II (2021-1-CZ01-KA220-HED-000023473) and Telč 22 (2022-1-CZ01-KA153-YOU-000070171). The summer school included an academic and cultural programme: The academic programme aimed at developing the participants' autonomous and self-regulatory skills, especially for foreing language learning. The cultural part of the program benefited from the rich and varied cultural backgrounds, varying degrees of hearing loss, mastered languages and means of communication of the participants. Much emphasis was placed on appreciating Deaf culture.
