Abstract

Přednáška se zaměřila na magii, zázrak a tajemství ve vizuální kultuře raného novověku. Namísto systematického výkladu se pokouší prostřednictvím dílčích sond ukázat, s jakými funkcemi a estetickými konotacemi byly tyto formy spojeny – to je, jak byly ony termíny v barokní kultuře vizuálně představovány. Po úvodu věnovaném Leonardově bílé magii následují tři sondy: (a) Sforza Pallavicini a Gianlorenza Berniniho „zázrak“; (b) Světlo a zázračné tajemství v architektuře; (c) Tajemství osvícenců v předměstských „Gegenden“.

Abstract (in English)

The lecture focused on magic, wonder and mystery in the visual culture of the early modern period. Rather than a systematic interpretation, it attempts to show through partial probes what functions and aesthetic connotations these forms were associated with - that is, how these terms were visually represented in Baroque culture. An introduction devoted to Leonardo's white magic is followed by three probes: (a) Sforza Pallavicini and Gianlorenzo Bernini's "miracle"; (b) Light and the Miraculous Mystery in Architecture; (c) The mystery of the Enlightenment in the suburban "Gegenden".
