Abstract

V originále

This integrated report presents the findings from Work package 5: Developmental-psychological insight into trust/distrust (WP5) from the EnTrust project. WP5 examined conceptualisations, correlates, and antecedents of trust and distrust in governance and interpersonal relationships. To investigate the development of trust/distrust and the cross-cultural similarities and specifics, we focused on four life stages from early adolescence to adulthood (age groups 11-12, 14-15, 18-19, and 30-50) in different European countries (Czechia, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, and Serbia). We employed a mixed-methods design comprising qualitative focus groups (56 focus groups with 251 participants from all participating countries) and a survey-based experiment (4082 participants from Czechia, Germany, Italy, and Serbia). This comprehensive approach allowed for an in-depth examination of the development of trust and distrust in authorities and close others.
