Abstract
The aim of the lecture is to outline and discuss how contemporary news audiences steer themselves in the current high-choice, fragmented and highly politicized media environments. In particular, the lecture takes a look at why current audience members trust and distrust news media, what people avoid what news media, and how trust in particular media links with such attitudes as populism and conspiracy thinking.
