This chapter discusses EU consumer protection in online sales and services, highlighting Directive 1999/44/EC and subsequent directives like Directive (EU) 2019/770 and Directive (EU) 2019/771. These directives aim to harmonize consumer rights and obligations across member states, addressing issues such as conformity, claims, and recourses. As of June 2022, the Czech Republic had not yet implemented these directives into national law. The text also mentions existing Czech laws related to online sales, withdrawal rights, and dispute resolution mechanisms, emphasizing the evolving landscape of consumer protection in the EU.
