Anotace

Le congrès international From Words to Sentences avait pour objectif d'examiner les relations entre la sémantique et la pragmatique sous différents angles, notamment en polémiquant avec l'approche linguistique formelle classique, qui limite fondamentalement le champ d'investigation de la signification des énoncés. Grâce à son orientation interdisciplinaire, qui prend en compte la composante du sens au-delà du sens littéral, il a rassemblé des contributeurs issus de divers domaines, et pas seulement de la recherche linguistique, le thème principal étant la distinction entre le sens implicite et le sens explicite. Mon intervention, qui portait sur la signification que l'accompagnement musical ajoute au sens des paroles de chansons, a été donnée dans le cadre de la session Approches théoriques et délimitations conceptuelles qui a ouvert la conférence. La conférence s'est concentrée sur les différentes composantes du sens musical et leur influence sur l'interprétation du texte. Je suis partie de l'hypothèse que la musique remplit une fonction d'élaboration et contribue à la compréhension en activant des schémas cognitifs qui organisent l'expérience perceptive en un tout cohérent et intelligible. Mon objectif était d'enrichir les connaissances actuelles sur le traitement sémantique en faisant appel aux sciences cognitives et à la neurolinguistique d'une part, à la pragmatique et à la musicologie d'autre part.

Anotace česky

Cílem mezinárodního kongresu Od slov k větám bylo nahlédnout problematiku vztahu mezi sémantikou a pragmatikou z různých úhlu pohledu, zejména v polemice s klasickým formálně lingvistickým přístupem, který zásadním způsobem limituje rozsah tázání po významu výpovědi. Díky svému interdisciplinárnímu zaměření, které zohledňuje součást významu nad rámec významu doslovného, přivedl dohromady obdorníky z nejrůznějších oblastí nejen linvistického výzkumu, přičemž hlavním tématem byl rozdíl mezi implicitním a explicitním významem. Moje přednáška, která byla zaměřena na význam, který hudební doprovod přidává k významu textu písní, proběhla v rámci části konference Approches théoriques et délimitations conceptuelles, která celou konferenci otvírala. Přednáška se zaměřovala na různé složky hudebního významu a jejich vliv na interpretaci textu. Vycházela jsem z hypotézy, že hudba plní funkci elaborace a přispívá k porozumění tím, že aktivuje kognitivní schémata, která organizují vjemovou zkušenost do koherentního a srozumitelného celku. Mým cílem bylo obohatit současné poznatky o sémantickém zpracování tím, za využití kognitivních věd a neurolingvistiky na jedné straně a pragmatiky a muzikologie na straně druhé.

The aim of the international conference From Words to Sentences was to examine the relationship between semantics and pragmatics from different angles, in particular by challenging the classical formal linguistic approach, which fundamentally limits the field of investigation of the meaning of statements. Thanks to its interdisciplinary orientation, which takes into account the component of meaning beyond the literal, it has brought together contributors from various fields, not just linguistic research, the main theme being the distinction between implicit and explicit meaning. My paper, which focused on the meaning that musical accompaniment adds to the meaning of song lyrics, was given as part of the Theoretical Approaches and Conceptual Boundaries session that opened the conference. The lecture focused on the different components of musical meaning and their influence on the interpretation of the text. My starting point was the hypothesis that music fulfils an elaborative function and contributes to understanding by activating cognitive schemas that organise perceptual experience into a coherent and intelligible whole. My aim was to enrich current knowledge of semantic processing by drawing on cognitive science and neurolinguistics on the one hand, and pragmatics and musicology on the other.
