Abstract

This article deals with a fascinating world of Facebook commentary sections under the news portals where headlines and articles about elites can be found at the same time with a pool of reactions in the comment section where users of social media express their opinions. Research method is based on discourse analysis of chosen Croatian media on Facebook in selected timeframe. We can divide the users into few groups a) the supporters and fans; b) in opposition; c) those who are (trying to be) funny no matter the situation; d) drawing attention to the deprived to level the field e) asking “who cares” or “who are they anyway”. The main contribution of this text is a monitoring of the language/social place that is not explored that much especially when it comes to small language environment. The comment sections reflect not only language in use but also moods, wits, and problems of its users and it mirrors how this part of society feels and talks about privileged.

Abstract (in Czech)

Tento článek pojednává o fascinujícím světě facebookových komentářových sekcí pod zpravodajskými portály, kde lze nalézt titulky a články o elitách zároveň je zásobárnou reakcí v sekci komentářů, kde uživatelé sociálních sítí vyjadřují své názory. Výzkumná metoda je založena na diskurzivní analýze vybraných chorvatských médií na Facebooku ve zvoleném časovém rámci. Uživatele můžeme rozdělit do několika skupin a) příznivci a fanoušci; b) v opozici; c) ti, kteří jsou (snaží se být) vtipní bez ohledu na situaci; d) srovnávají pozici privilegovaných a méně privilegovaných e) ptají se „koho to zajímá“ nebo „kdo to vlastně je“. Hlavním přínosem tohoto textu je sledování jazykového/sociálního místa, které není tolik prozkoumáno, zejména pokud jde o malé jazykové prostředí. Sekce komentářů odrážejí nejen používaný jazyk, ale také nálady, důvtip a problémy jeho uživatelů a zrcadlí, jak se tato část společnosti cítí a mluví o privilegovaných.
