Abstract
V originále
In this paper, we investigate secondary singulatives and collectives in Ukrainian. Secondary singulatives are countable unit nouns formed from uncountable spatial collectives, which are in turn themselves derived from countable unit nouns. On the other hand, secondary collectives are uncountable aggregate nouns created from countable singulative expressions, which are themselves derived from uncountable aggregate nouns. Ukrainian derivational morphology is remarkable since it allows for such recursive mechanisms. We demonstrate how these processes can be captured and explained within a system that is grounded in mereotopology and based on the ontological distinction between integrated objects and clusters.
