Abstract

Tento netradiční průvodce Znojmem seznamuje čtenáře nejen s uměleckými památkami města od raného středověku po současnost, ale také s příběhy, které se v jeho zdech odehrávaly. Jednotlivé stavby nejsou vnímány jako oddělené „pozoruhodnosti“, ale coby organické součásti celku. V našem vyprávění se tak Znojmo stává skutečným ekosystémem, v němž se po staletí umělecké památky pojí s příběhy lidí, kteří je užívali, ať už šlo o známé osobnosti či anonymní měšťany. Cílem této knihy je seznámit laskavé čtenáře se Znojmem poněkud jinak – aby příběh města a jeho staveb bavil, dojal i poučil.

Abstract (in English)

This unconventional guide to Znojmo introduces readers not only to the artistic monuments of the city from the early Middle Ages to the present day but also to the stories that took place within its walls. The individual buildings are not perceived as separate "sights" but as organic parts of the whole. In our narrative, Znojmo thus becomes a natural ecosystem in which artistic monuments have been linked to the stories of the people who used them over the centuries, whether they were famous personalities or anonymous townspeople. The book aims to introduce kind readers to Znojmo slightly differently - to make the story of the town and its buildings entertaining, moving and educational.
