Abstract

Der Raum Böhmens wird häufig als Ort interpretiert, an dem fortdauernd nicht allein die Kulturen des südlichen und nördlichen Europas, sondern in erster Linie die des europäischen Westens und Ostens aufeinanderstiessen. Es wird versucht, den wesentlichen Kontext zu erfassen. Dabei lenkt es die Aufmerksamkeit auf eines der wichtigsten historischen Stereotypen - die tschechischen "Acht Jahre". Gleichzeitig stellt er auch die tschechisch-liechtensteinischen Beziehungen in den einzelnen historischen Etappen dar.

Abstract (in Czech)

Oblast českých zemí je často vnímána jako místo, kde se nepřetržitě střetávaly nejen kultury jižní a severní Evropy, ale především kultury evropského Západu a Východu. Kapitola podává analýzu role českých zemí ve středoevropských a evropských dějinách od raného středověku do současnosti. Pokouší se vystihnout zásadní souvislosti. Upozorňuje přitom na jeden z nezanedbatelných historických stereotypů – na české „osmičkové roky“. Zároveň si všímá také česko-lichtenštejnských vztahů v jednotlivých historických etapách.

Abstract (in English)

The region of the Czech lands is often perceived as a place where not only the cultures of southern and northern Europe, but especially the cultures of the European West and East have continuously clashed. The chapter provides an analysis of the role of the Czech lands in Central European and European history from the early Middle Ages to the present. It attempts to capture the essential context. In doing so, it draws attention to one of the most significant historical stereotypes - the Czech 'Eight Years'. At the same time, he also notes the Czech-Liechtenstein relations in the individual historical stages.
