Comparing the data to the data on Japanese games lets us verify if or to what extent Japanese games stand out. We cover a 25-year span from 1995 to 2020 to be able to identify patterns and changes through time in the images of selected countries’ games and to examine the position of Japanese games in a relatively recent discourse.
