It traces the administrative distribution of competences, i.e. state administration and self-government, and furthermore hierarchizes spatial planning documents. The levels have been determined according to the distribution of competences and the territorial division of countries into national, regional and local. For each level, documentation and strategies have been selected and their role and function for the development of the given territory has been described, as well as the link to other instruments both horizontally and vertically. The text focuses more specifically on the delivery of sustainable development through relevant spatial planning instruments at the lowest, because most effective, level. ER -
