Abstract

The paper focused on the context of the construction of the new Lidice, the form of which emerged from an architectural competition held in 1947. Construction then began shortly after the communist February coup in May 1948. We want to focus on the forms and contents associated with the exhibition in the Czech media of the time. We will not focus on the specialist media; the aim will be to describe how information and discussion of the event were framed in print media intended for a general audience. We will be given texts and pictorial material in the contemporary press of both news and journalistic nature. We are interested in how the media image of the construction was constructed, what themes it is associated with, how the past is processed, and what current meanings are attributed to Lidice's construction (not the extermination).

Abstract (in Czech)

Příspěvek se zaměřil na kontext výstavby nových Lidic, jehož podoba vzešla z architektonické soutěže provedené v roce 1947. Stavět se pak začalo nedlouho po komunistickém únorovém puči v květnu 1948. Chceme se věnovat především formám a obsahům, která s výstavnou spojovala dobová česká média. Nebudeme se zaměřovat na média odborná, cílem bude popsat jakým způsobem byla rámována informace a diskuze o této události v tištěných médiích určených pro široké publikum. Daty nám budou texty a obrazový materiál v dobovém tisku zpravodajské i publicistické povahy. Zajímá nás, jakým způsobem byl konstruován mediální obraz výstavby, se kterými tématy se pojí, jak je zpracovávána minulost a jaké aktuální významy jsou výstavbě (nikoliv vyhlazení) Lidic připisovány.
