Abstract

La littérature des Premieres Nations constitue une strate récente et, jusqu'a présent, particuliere de la littérature québécoise. Longtemps attachée, tant en poésie qu'en prose, aux lieux d'origine que sont les réserves, les forêts, la nature, et aux récits orientés vers le passé et les traditions, elle commence à imprégner l'espace urbain. Que devient alors la modernité urbaine et comment s'articule-t-elle avec la modélisation identitaire qui est une composante de la littérature québécoise ? Pour explorer ces questions, nous examinerons deux romans récents - De Vengeance de Julie D. Kurtness et Nauetakuan de Natasha Kanapé Fontaine - qui offrent deux aspects contrastés de l'amérindianité urbaine et du discours identitaire.

Literatura prvních národů představuje v rámci quebecké literatury nedávnou a doposud zvláštní vrstvu. Po dlouhou dobu byla v poezii i próze vázána na místa původu, jako jsou rezervace, lesy, příroda, a na příběhy orientované na minulost a tradice, nyní začíná pronikat do městského prostoru. Jak tento průnik mění městskou modernitu a jak obraz identity, který který je jednou ze složek quebecké literatury? Abychom tyto otázky prozkoumali, analyzujeme dva nedávno vydané romány - De Vengeance od Julie D. Kurtnessové a Nauetakuan od Natashy Kanapé Fontaineové -, které nabízejí dva kontrastní aspekty městské indiánskosti a diskurzu identity.

Abstract (in English)

The literature of the First Nations constitutes a recent and, until now, spécifie stratum within Quebec literature. For a long time attached, both in poetry and in prose, to places of origin, such as reserves, forests, nature, and to stories oriented towards the past and traditions, it is beginning to permeate the urban space. What then becomes of urban modernity and how does it articulate with the identity modeling that accompanies Quebec literature as one of its components? To explore these questions, we examine two recent novels - De Vengeance by Julie D. Kurtness and Nauetakuan by Natasha Kanapé Fontaine - which offer two contrasting aspects of urban Amerindianity and identity discourse.
