Abstract

In my contribution, I focused on several aspects of Ctesias’ renowned work Persica. First, despite his poor reputation, Ctesias’ narrative became very influential for certain periods of history. Second, which tropes were associated with the royal courts. And third, how the author proceeded to describe the history of the Asian realms with his unique style.

Ve svém příspěvku jsem se zaměřil na některé aspekty Ktésiova spisu Persika. V první řadě se Ktésiovo vyprávění mělo velký vliv na vybrané úseky dějin navzdory jeho nevysoké reputaci. Za druhé, jaká topoi byla spojována s královským dvorem. A za třetí, jak autor postupoval při popisu dějin říší v Asii skrze svůj unikátní styl.
