Abstract

Presentace na konferenci přibližuje prvotní závěry analýzy rozhovorů s muži, kteří pracují na pozici zdravotní sestry. Zaměřuje se na propojování témat maskulinity a péče ve vnímání samotných aktérů na pozadí organizačních struktur ve zdravotnictví a sledují pociťované projevy stárnutí. Výzkum je součástí obsáhlého kvalitativního sociologického výzkumného projektu Instituce stárnoucích mužů (IAM GAČR 2023 – 25) zaměřujícího se na průnik a vztahy mezi stárnutím, maskulinitou, péčí a mocí v kontextu České republiky. Analýza odhaluje dynamickou souhru popírání stárnutí a s ním spojené křehkosti.

Abstract (in English)

The presentation at the conference presents the initial findings of the analysis of interviews with men working as nurses. It focuses on linking the themes of masculinity and care in the agents' perceptions against the backdrop of organisational structures in the healthcare sector and traces the felt manifestations of ageing. The research is part of a comprehensive qualitative sociological research project, Institutions of Ageing Men (IAM GAČR 2023 - 25), focusing on the intersection and relationships between ageing, masculinity, care and power in the context of the Czech Republic. The analysis reveals the dynamic interplay between the denial of ageing and its associated fragility.
