Evropský atlas terapie neplodnosti je online interaktivní mapa, která hodnotí 49 evropských zemí ohledně přístupu ke spravedlivé, bezpečné a účinné terapii neplodnosti. S ohledem na skutečnost, že neplodnost postihuje v evropských zemích 25 milionů jejích obyvatel a že přestavuje medicínský stav nesoucí s sebou závažné zdravotní důsledky včetně deprese, je hlavní evropskou tendencí hrazení terapie neplodnosti z veřejného zdravotního pojištění. Největší zajímavostí je srovnání tohoto a dalších evropských atlasů (Antikoncepční atlas, Interrupční atlas), kde si lze všimnout skutečnosti, že některé země zhoršují přístup k antikoncepci a interrupci, zatímco zlepšují přístup k terapii neplodnosti. Na tomto místě se nabízejí otázky, zdali je motivem těchto vlád zlepšit situaci lidí trpících neplodností či starost o úbytek a stárnutí svých populací. Ať je tomu jakkoliv, kromě přístupu ke spravedlivé, bezpečné a účinné terapii neplodnosti je pro zdraví evropské populace třeba podporovat i ostatní části sexuálního a reprodukčního zdraví.

European Atlas of Fertility Treatment Policies is an online interactive map that scores 49 European countries in their access to equal, safe and efficient fertility treatments. Considering the fact that in Europe, infertility affects 25 million of its citizens and that it represents a medical condition with severe consequences, including depression, the main European tendency is public funding of fertility treatments. The greatest interest is the comparison of this and other European atlases (Contraception Atlas, Abortion Atlas), where one can notice that some countries have worsened access to contraception and abortion, while improving access to fertility treatments. At this point, the question arises as to whether the motive for these governments is to improve the situation of people suffering from infertility or worry about population decline and ageing. Whatever the motive, in addition to access to equal, safe and effective fertility treatments, for the health of Europe’s population, we must support all parts of sexual and reproductive health.
