Der Burgwall Pohansko liegt im südwestlichen Teil der Tschechischen Republik im Raum der Auwälder über dem Zusammenfluss der March und Thaya.Bis zur Gegenwart wurde auf Pohansko eine Fläche von über 140.000 Quadratmeter aufgedeckt und dokumentiert. Bei den Grabungen wurde ein zersprengtes Fundgut aus verschiedenen vorzeitlichen Zeitabschnitten erworben, vor allem aber eine kontinuierliche Besiedlung seit der Zeit der slawischen Expansion (6.Jahrh.) bis zur ersten Hälfte des 10.Jahrhunderts nachgewiesen.

The enclosure at Břeclav-Pohansko lies in the south-easternmost corner of the Czech Republic, in an area of enchanting forests above the confluence of the rivers Morava and Dyje. To date, an area of some 140,000 sq.m. has been professionally opened and documented at Pohansko. The excavations carried out have identified a variety of finds from various periods in prehistory, but have however yielded information above all about settlement from the time of the Slavic expansion (6th century) to the first half of the 10th century AD.
