Abstract
This review summarites recent approaches to the detection of minimal residual disease in acute myeloid leukemia. It shows advantages and disadvantages of all major methods, such as cytogenetics, fluorescence in situ hybridisation, flow cytometry and polymerase chain reaction, involved in minimal residual disease monitoring.
