Abstract

V originále

Cytoskeleton was studied in two human fungal pathogens Cryptococcus neoformans and Aureobasidium pullulans in comparison with ascomycetous budding and fission yeasts. The results showed:1)topology of actin patches and cables in C.neoformans resembled budding yeast, while microtubules were similar to fission yeast;2) in A. pullulans actin was deficient, while microtubules were abundant and similar to fission yeast. Cell reproduction in C. neoformans is based on well developed cytoskeleton, while deficient cytoskeleton in A. pullulans may result in fungal polymorphism and resistence to fungicides.
