Abstract

V originále

Schizandra chinensis is native in East Asia, but several attempts to cultivate this plant under European climatic conditions have been made. The biologically active compounds are the lignans with an uncommon structure derived from dibenzo[a,c]cyclooctadiene. The lignans prevent liver injuries induced by some hepatotoxic chemicals, stimulate liver regeneration after partial hepatoctonomy and also inhibit hepatocarcinogenesis and lipid peroxidation in rats. CEC in macroporous polyacrylamide columns were successfully used to analyse and quantify lignans in extract of the seeds of S. chinensis. Good separations were achieved in less than 35 min.
