Abstract
We found that high levels of bromide in the organism of the rat influenced the iodine metabolism in two parallel ways: by competitive inhibition of iodide accumulation, and by accelerating the iodine excretion from the body. We have also confirmed an earlier observation that bromide toxicity is dependent upon the state of iodine supply to the organism.
