Abstract
Six sites, situated on the phytogeographical frontier between Carpathian, Hercynian (Central-European) and Pannonian flora, are covered by the guide. Three of them are representative of a particular phytogeographical region: the Pavlov Hills of the Pannonian, the National Park Podyjí of the Hercynian and the Bílé Karpaty Mts. of the Carpathian region. Other remarkable features, such as meadow and forest vegetation of continental floodplains near the confluence of the Morava and Dyje Rivers and sand dunes near the town of Hodonín are also covered. The Milovická stráň Nature Reserve represents an example of Pannonian flora and vegetation on soft Tertiary bedrock and loess. Site descriptions include information on topography, rocks and soils, climate, and conservation, but mainly on vegetation and flora. A more detailed descriptions of particular places worth visiting within each of the broader sites follow, supplemented with species lists. The mycological section contains information about mycological research, and important taxa of macromycetes are listed. References include the most important botanical publications in which further information on a particular site can be found.
