Abstract

Die wenig bekannten Stomiiformes-Otolithen aus dem Miozän der Karpatischen Vortiefe werden neu untersucht und um 5 Arten ergänzt. Im Badenium sind Stomiiformes mit 10 Arten, darunter der neuen Art Woodsia emi, vertreten. Die Diversität dieser Fische im Unterbadenium der Zentralen Paratethys ist mit der Diversität im heutigen Mittelmeer quantitativ vergleichbar.

Abstract (in English)

The yet poorly known stomiiform otoliths from the Carpathian Foredeep (first of all from the Lower Badenian)are revised and could be completed with five previously uknown taxa (among them the new species Woodsia emi). Lower Badenian Paratethys stomiiform taxa seem to show a diversity of the same order as seen in present day Mediterranean stomiiforms.
